Having been born and raised in a small west coast town in France, Stéphane earned his culinary diploma in 1991 from the Lycee Hotelier La Rochelle. He did his apprenticeship for three years at the famous L’Epie de Ble de La Rochelle and has worked as sous chef and manager at several fine restaurants in the Charente Maritime region.
In 1998, Stéphane met his wife-to-be from California who was on a bicycle tour with friends from the Bay Area. Since relocating with her to Marin, Stéphane has worked as sous chef at Hyde Street Bistro in San Francisco and at El Paseo in Mill Valley. Stéphane worked as executive chef at Le Theatre Restaurant in Berkeley and the French Garden Restaurant in Sebastopol.
It is Stéphane’s passion for the art of cooking and creativity with flavors that inspire his dishes. Stéphane knows where to shop for the freshest produce and the most delectable meats and fish. It is his belief that the appetite begins with the eyes, and the presentation of each course is delightful.
